2. Information we collect

• Information you give us: name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn or other profile links, CVs and career documents, programme or community registration details, testimonials you submit, comments you post, opportunity listings you submit as an organisation, and the content of messages you send us.
• Account information: if you hold an administrator account, your sign-in email, role and two-step verification records.
• Information collected automatically: essential cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure, plus basic usage and device information used to understand how the site performs.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of data (such as health or biometric data) and ask that you do not include them in documents you send us.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiries and provide our services — necessary to take steps at your request or to perform our agreement with you.
• To send newsletters, opportunity alerts and community updates — on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
• To review and publish opportunity listings and testimonials — our legitimate interest in running a moderated, trustworthy platform.
• To keep the platform secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in protecting our users and systems.
• To measure impact and report anonymously to partners — our legitimate interest; reports are aggregated and do not identify individuals.
• To meet legal and record-keeping obligations — compliance with applicable law.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies and local browser storage are used to keep you signed in, remember your consent choice and protect forms from abuse — the site cannot work without them. • Supabase — database, authentication and file storage hosting.
• Resend — delivery of newsletters, notifications and sign-in emails.
• Cloudinary — hosting of images and media used on the site.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. International transfers

Our service providers may store or process data on servers outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on providers that offer contractual protections for international transfers and require them to keep your data secure and to use it only on our instructions.

7. How long we keep it

Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period so we can honour the unsubscribe. Enquiries and form submissions are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. Community and programme records are kept for the duration of your participation and for a limited period afterwards for impact reporting. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.

8. Security

Data is stored on managed, access-controlled infrastructure, transmitted over encrypted connections, and accessible only to authorised personnel. Administrator accounts are protected with two-step verification. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive documents you do not need us to have.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your information;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
• withdraw consent at any time — for example by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter;
• ask for your information in a portable format; and
• complain to your data protection authority (in Nigeria, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission).

10. Children

Our services are intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
