Why We Started Beevora
A short note on why we're building this platform.

Why we Started Beevora
For years, I have had conversations with people who are working, earning a salary and doing everything they are supposed to do, but still asking themselves:“Is this really where I am supposed to be?”
Some are actively searching for another job.
Some want to grow in their current organisation but do not know what they need to do differently.
Some are trying to negotiate better opportunities.
Some simply need access to information, opportunities or someone who can help them make sense of what comes next.
These conversations are a big part of why Beevora exists.
It Started With BeebaTalks
In 2020, I started BeebaTalks as a platform for sharing job opportunities and practical career information.
At the time, the idea was simple: if I came across useful opportunities or information that could help someone navigate work better, why not share it?
But over time, something became increasingly clear.
People did not only need job vacancies.
They needed access, clarity and support.
Someone could find ten vacancies online and still not know which one made sense for them.
Another person could already have a job but feel completely stuck.
Someone else might be ready for promotion but have no idea how to position themselves for it.
Another person might have the experience for an opportunity but struggle to communicate that experience on a CV or during an interview.
And sometimes, people simply did not know that certain opportunities existed.
The more the BeebaTalks community grew, the clearer the gap became.
Finding a Job Is Only One Part of Building a Career
There is a lot of career information available online.
But having information and knowing what to do with it are two different things.
People need practical guidance for the real decisions that come with building a career.
How do I improve my CV?
How do I prepare for this interview?
Should I take this job?
How do I position myself for promotion?
How do I have a difficult conversation at work?
What skills should I be developing?
Where can I find opportunities that can move my career forward?
What do I do when I have a job but still feel stuck?
These are not abstract career questions.
They are decisions people are making every day.
And they can have a significant impact on someone's income, confidence and future.
That is the gap Beevora is being built to address.
From Survival Jobs to Meaningful Careers
For many people, the first priority is understandably to find work.
You need an income.
You have responsibilities.
You may not have the luxury of waiting for the “perfect” opportunity.
Sometimes you take the job that is available.
There is nothing wrong with that.
But getting a job should not mean that you stop thinking about where your career is going.
Over time, the question can move from:
“How do I get a job?”
to:
“How do I build a career that gives me opportunities to grow?”
That is what we mean when we talk about moving from survival jobs to meaningful careers.
A meaningful career does not necessarily mean having a glamorous job or loving every Monday morning.
It means having greater clarity and agency over your professional journey.
It means being able to recognise opportunities.
Build relevant skills.
Make informed career decisions.
Advocate for yourself.
Navigate the workplace better.
And continue progressing.
Why Beevora?
Beevora is the next stage of the work that started with BeebaTalks.
We are building a career growth and opportunity platform designed to help working professionals, particularly those in the early and middle stages of their careers, access the information, tools, guidance and opportunities they need to move forward.
Our work is built around three simple ideas:
Access. Clarity. Growth.
Access
People cannot pursue opportunities they do not know exist.
We want to make relevant jobs, programmes, fellowships, mentorship opportunities and other career-development opportunities easier to discover.
Clarity
More information does not automatically produce better decisions.
We want to help professionals understand their options, identify what may be holding them back and make more informed decisions about their careers.
Growth
Getting the opportunity is only the beginning.
We want people to have practical resources that help them perform, progress and continue developing once they are in the workplace.
We Are Building on Work That Has Already Started
Beevora did not begin with a website.
It began with people.
With job opportunities shared.
Career questions answered.
Workplace conversations.
Messages from people who got interviews.
People who found jobs.
People who negotiated.
People who realised they needed to make a change.
People who simply needed someone to explain something about work in a way that felt practical.
Beevora gives us the opportunity to take that work further and build something more structured around it.
Over time, we want to create more ways for professionals to access career resources, opportunities, mentorship, learning and a community that supports their growth.
The Bigger Picture
We believe career growth has an impact beyond the individual.
When people can access better opportunities, develop relevant capabilities and participate meaningfully in the workplace, the benefits extend to families, organisations and communities.
That is why our work aligns particularly with SDG 4 — Quality Education and SDG 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth.
There is still a great deal to build.
But the purpose remains simple:
Help more people move from simply having a job to intentionally building a career.
That is why we started Beevora.
